Join Us For A CALL TO ACTION! 

PEACE MARCH ON "THE MAGNIFICENT MILE"

December 31st 2015 at 11am

Join us as we remember all of those shot and killed in 2015. We will call our city to "break the cycle" of violence for the upcoming year of 2016! Meet us at the Tribune Tower (435 N. Michigan Ave.) to march to the Water Tower (835 N. Michigan Ave.) and return. Buses will leave St. Sabina (1210 W. 78th Pl.) at 10am. For Transportation Call (773)483-4300 to register for the buses. Bring pictures and posters of those we've lost to violence. Wear blue to promote peace and bring signs calling for peace!

National Vigil for Victims of Gun Violence - CHICAGO

This year marks the second anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shootings in Newton Connecticut.  Since that time, the gun violence and loss of life has continued to plague this country. 

Chicago Citizens for Change, The Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence and Purpose Over Pain are partnering with the Newtown Foundation, Washington National Cathedral, States United to Prevent Gun Violence and Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence as we remember all victims of gun violence.

Members of Purpose Over Pain understand how parents who have lost children to violence need some time to unwind and relax their minds. Join us as we enjoy fabulous massage, acupuncture, manicures, facials, Zumba dance and more... All while we mix, mingle and enjoy free food!

Parent Support days and other events have given us a platform to sensitize the community about the painful effects of gun violence, bring awareness to common sense preventive solutions, and provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for youth, parents and members of the community.

The walk will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at South Shore Hospital, 8012 S. Crandon.

Registration begins at 9:00 am, followed by the walk from 10:00 am – 11:00 am and then a Health Fair from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.
